I know I know, less about me and more about Interior Design, right? I promise I will talk more about interior design again soon – in fact, my paid content this week will be about interior design. Check it out if you’re interested in the concept of downsizing 😉
The updates:
Yes, I am finally moving into my next apartment soon! It has been a long, arduous journey trying to find this place, and I definitely had to compromise on space in order to be in the area I wanted to be, but I couldn’t be more excited! I have been in the suburbs (or more rural) all my life, and while it has been wonderful being around all of that nature, I crave more activity. I want to be in all the action, near my friends, near the bustling interior design industry, and that leads me to the first big update… I’m moving into a city for the first time! I am very much ready for a change, and cannot wait to discuss interior design through a new lens that I have not yet had much experience with.
In the same vein (but very much a different point), I will also be downsizing. In my last place, I had roughly 800 sq ft to myself. The apartment I was in had a terrible layout, so it felt smaller and less functional, but it was 800 sq ft nonetheless. That being said, my new place is going to be roughly 520 sq ft… a full 35%!! It’s a little intimidating, but luckily, as an interior designer I am equipped to handle this. I will be spending some time in my storage unit figuring out what to keep, what to sell, and if I need to invest in another storage unit for the things I plan on saving for a future larger space. Because this is freshly relatable to my life, I will be writing a little article to help those walk through downsizing (as mentioned above)… stay tuned 😉
As part of the same life change, I will be purchasing new furnishings to complement my new space and design concepts. Let me know if you guys want to see this process or would like me to write a post on my process for sourcing. This marks the first time that I am redesigning my personal interior aesthetic, so I am excited to embark on that journey!
Good things to come, stay tuned for some posts in the future that possibly contain some visuals of my design in progress 🙂
